Charitable Activities
The Valley Healthcare Education Foundation is committed to increasing access to higher education for our Valley’s students. Through a combination of scholarships, grants, education programs, public health initiatives and networking opportunities, we help local students live, learn and contribute to the place they call home.
Scholarships & Grants
Scholarships and Educational Grants to be awarded at the K-12, undergraduate, and graduate level and can include:
- Need-Based
- Merit Based
- Donor Directed (but not selected)
- Health/Medical Focused
- Grants for Pathway Program Students to Support Education into the Health Sciences Field
With respect to all scholarships, preference shall be given for students graduating high school in, attending college or graduate school in, or with significant ties to one or more of the following California counties: San Joaquin; Calaveras; Stanislaus; Tuolumne; Merced; Mariposa; Madera; Fresno; Kings; Tulare; or Kern.
Other Education Programs
Other Educational Programs are open to CHSU and the broader community and can include:
- Summer Workshops
- Speaker Services
- Tutoring programs (this may include Spanish language courses, remedial science/math tutoring, etc.)

Public Health Initiatives
Public Health Initiatives can include:
- Community health fairs
- Other public health and wellness related events
- Collaboration with inter-professional initiatives related to public health
- Public Health Education
Inter-professional Education
Interprofessional Education opportunities are open to health professionals in our community and can include:
- Seminars
- Workshops
- Other networking
These focus on bringing together various types of health professionals with the goal of improving patient outcomes and delivery of health care with an interprofessional health care team.
